With New Jersey’s fall trout stocking about to begin, I headed out today to spend some time chasing wild trout and enjoying a relaxing day on the water. There will soon be plenty of excitement over the larger stocked trout, especially the broodstock. I’m looking forward to those fish, too. Recent rains have made us all excited about the upcoming fall season! Warmwater The smallmouth bass reports have all been very good. Smallies are now moving out of the deep summer and midday holes and starting to more actively predate on the shallower flats along the edges of the river.
